Captain
Selecting your team captain is very important. You need someone who is going to
set an example to the other players on the pitch. Would this be your best player?
Your most experienced player? A strong midfield player?
Try out different players and see which has the greatest effect. See how the players
performance scores are if he is playing as captain.
To pick your captain, simply select the shirt number, 1 to 11, that the player you
want will be wearing during the match from the appropriate drop down list.
Aggression
Here is where you have the chance to tell your players to really get stuck in during
a match. The higher the value you pick here, the harder your players will play.
However, there are side effects from playing with a high aggression.
First, you will pick up more yellow and red cards. Obviously if players are trying
harder and going in for more tackles this is the risk you are going to run. Bookings
and sending offs result in penalty points going against players, which in turn can
lead to suspensions. See the Penalty Points section below for more details.
Also, the risk of injuries, in both teams, is increased if you play with a high
aggression. Injuries can result in players missing several games depending on how
bad the knock is.
Longball
The setting indicates to your team how you wish them to play. A high longball value
encourages your players to move the ball forward quickly, often via one pass from
back to front. This can be effective if your team has strong front players who are
good in the air.
A low value indicates you wish your team to pass the ball more. This can result in
more possession and greater control of the game. However, you'll require players
will good passing and awareness skills to get the best from this setting.
